U.S. Cellular's Samsung GALAXY Note II pre-order page is up; device is $299.99 with a 2-year pact
Just as with its launch of the Samsung Galaxy S III, regional carrier U.S. Cellular is playing in the sand box with the big boys as it starts accepting pre-orders of the Samsung GALAXY Note II. The son of phablet will cost you $299.99 with your John Hancock on a two-year contract. The unit, with its 5.5 inch screen, will ship sometime at the end of next month. The carrier is accepting pre-orders from its web site only.

Because there is a reference to instant savings for those who pre-order, those who wait to buy the device at U.S. Cellular stores might end up paying $100 more which they will get back in the form of a rebate. The carrier did the same thing with the Samsung Galaxy S III, charging $299.99 on contract for the 16GB model, and then returning that $100 in the form of a gift card. It would appear that those who reserve the phablet online will not be asked to lay out that extra $100.

The carrier says it will charge your credit card 72 hours after your order, giving you three days to act on your buyer's remorse. Both the Samsung Galaxy S III and the Samsung GALAXY Note II have been offered to the same carriers for each model's stateside launch. Those operators are Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and U.S. Cellular, and we wouldn't be surprised to see this pattern continue for future high-end Samsung releases.
